Who we are
Aloha, I’m Jackie!
I’ve spent the past 15+ years building, running, and helping others launch service-based businesses from the ground up—long before I ever called it “consulting.” My journey started in Cleveland, Ohio, where I went to cosmetology school during high school and became the general manager of a full-service salon, Vanity Lab, by age of 18. I wasn’t just doing hair—I was managing a team, handling payroll, building out workflows, and creating systems to support the business long-term. That early experience gave me a deep understanding of what it takes to run a business behind the scenes—and how to set it up for sustainable success.
After relocating to Hawaii, I helped launch Treehouse Coworking’s Kahala location from the ground up—handling everything from design and contractor coordination to software implementation, community building, and events. I stepped in as the COO overseeing day-to-day operations and refining the backend to support a thriving small business community.
One of my most dynamic roles was at The Shipyards, a massive waterfront venue in Ohio, where I led marketing and internal event coordination across their restaurant, bar, coffee shop, and wedding venue. From vendor markets and New Year’s Eve galas to restaurant POS, merchandising, and staff communication systems, I helped streamline operations while enhancing the guest experience.
After that, I built VIVE Hair Society—my own business, and truly my baby—from the ground up. I designed the space, hired the team, created the brand, and implemented every system and process to support a beautiful, fully booked salon that feels both effortless and empowering. VIVE was built to reflect everything I believe in: creative freedom, community, and a business that works for you. I get to show up behind the chair with presence and passion, share the space with other independent beauty pros, and enjoy the kind of flow and ease I now help others create. It’s proof that you can run a successful business without running yourself into the ground.
That’s how Native Grind was born—out of a clear need for service-based business owners to have someone who sees the entire operation. Not just marketing. Not just systems. But the full picture—from the customer experience to the backend structure to how it all flows together. Because if one part of your business is off, the rest feels chaotic. I help fix that.
Alongside beauty, hospitality, and coworking brands, I’ve also worked with CrossFit gyms and chiropractic clinics, supporting lead generation, class launches, email marketing, front desk operations, and referral strategy—adapting my approach to meet each unique business need.
Native Grind exists to bring structure, strategy, and support to businesses that want to grow without losing their sanity. Whether you're launching from scratch or leveling up an existing business, I’m here to help you make it work—so you can focus on what you love.
